About My Practice
My artwork has always been a way for me to process though personal life experiences and make sense of them.
I often stumble upon new information and experience moments of connection that resonate within me. It does not initially make conscious sense, but always seems to imply profound importance and demands further attention and introspection. As I document each of these moments that seem to connect to a larger human narrative, I also do research into topics that arise along the journey which always reveal new insights.
Sometimes these journeys take months or years to work through, while most continue to evolve as my thoughts expand and transcend into new understandings. By the end of a piece, I like to feel that I have both visually an emotionally expressed my experience, brought harmony or sense to the disparate elements, and connected my personal epiphanies into larger understanding of the human condition.
